Mike Ogborn has over 30 years of experience in public affairs at both the federal and state levels in the United States, as well as experience at the federal and provincial levels in Canada. Mike was appointed by the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure in Manitoba to serve on the Manitoba International Gateway Strategy Committee (MIGS). He has worked with US federal agencies such as the Surface Transportation Board (STB) and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) addressing issues such as investment tax credits for short line and regional railroads, truck size and weight issues, and other topics that affect the transportation industry. In addition, Mike has represented companies at local government and tribal levels.
Mike has provided expert testimony in both federal and state legislative hearings. In addition, he has participated in drafting legislation and has actively participated in rulemaking proceedings. He has represented companies in freight rail rate cases at the Interstate Commerce Commission (the STB’s predecessor). He has also provided labor and strategic transportation advice to truck lines, railroads and shippers. Previous representation includes, but is not limited to, McCarty Farms and Nevada Power.
